About norda
norda was founded in Montreal in March 2020 by Willa and Nick Martire, longtime running partners with decades in the footwear industry. Head of design Louis-Martin Tremblay and brand developer Gerard Cleal joined them as partners. The first shoe, the norda 001, launched in summer 2021 after about two years of prototype testing on the trails between Montreal and the Eastern Townships, in conditions from −35 °C to +35 °C. The name comes from the Latin for "north".
The idea was a trail shoe built to last. The 001 was the first trail running shoe with a seamless upper made from bio-based Dyneema®, a fibre known for its strength-to-weight ratio, which DSM makes from renewable feedstock. Underfoot is a custom Vibram® sole that pairs a Litebase construction with Megagrip rubber, with 5 mm lugs in a topographic pattern inspired by the Canadian Shield.

norda builds a small, numbered range rather than a new shoe every season. Stock changes by size and colourway, so the norda collection always shows what's in store. Models we carry include:
norda 001A. The evolution of the original 001. The "A" stands for Arnitel®: norda brought the Arnitel® TPEE midsole from its race shoe into the 001, for a livelier ride that norda says gives about 30% more energy return and 10% less weight. It's our best-selling norda by a wide margin and our go-to recommendation for most trail runners.
norda 002. Lower to the ground, for runners who want more trail feel on technical terrain.
norda 005 and norda 055. The newer models in the range. Ask in store for how they compare with the 001A on fit, stack and ride.
Accessories. norda caps such as the Luster Cap, plus norda socks when they're in.
Sizing and fit
norda says to size up and means it: half a size for the 001 and 005, and a full size for the 002 and 003. Full men's and women's conversions are in our norda size guide . If you're unsure, come into the Richmond store and try sizes on.
norda for Metro Vancouver trails
West Coast trails are wet, rooty and rocky for much of the year. Megagrip rubber and deep lugs are what most of our customers want for the North Shore, Squamish and the Fraser Valley, and the bio-Dyneema upper holds its shape on long, wet days. Our weekly run club starts and finishes at the store, and it's a good place to ask other runners how their norda have held up.

Do you ship norda across Canada?
Yes. Shipping is free on Canadian orders over $200 CAD and $13.99 CAD under $200. Orders placed before 12 p.m. PT on a business day ship the same day, and in-store pickup in Richmond is usually ready in 24 to 48 hours.
Can I return norda shoes?
You can request a return or exchange within 14 days of delivery or in-store purchase. Shoes must be unused and in their original packaging. You can try them on indoors only, on a clean surface, and shoes worn outdoors or for training can't be returned. See Returns & Exchanges for the full terms.
