Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in Åre, Sweden by three ski racers — Stefan Engström, Peter Blom and Christer Mårtensson — who believed ski kit should be both technically honest and genuinely good looking. From a single shop in a mountain town at the 63rd parallel, the brand grew into Scandinavia's most recognisable mountainwear name. HQ moved to Stockholm in 1999; Amer Sports acquired the brand in 2018 (alongside Arc'teryx, Salomon, Atomic), and the line is led by President Stefano Saccone from April 2025. The Åre maxim still holds: if it can handle Åre, it can handle anything.
The Monolight is Peak Performance's first fully circular-certified jacket — a PrimaLoft® ThermX synthetic insulator built in monomaterial construction so the whole garment can be recycled as a single stream. 47 gsm 20D recycled-ripstop face, highly compressible, packs into its own pouch. Cut for layering: over a base or mid, under a HIPE shell. Colour-matched repair patches are included. The Åre logic of built-to-last extended to end-of-life. The first fully Circular Fashion-certified jacket in the line — repair patches included.
