Utility Light Zip Hood

Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in Åre, Sweden by three ski racers — Stefan Engström, Peter Blom and Christer Mårtensson — who believed ski kit should be both technically honest and genuinely good looking. From a single shop in a mountain town at the 63rd parallel, the brand grew into Scandinavia's most recognisable mountainwear name. HQ moved to Stockholm in 1999; Amer Sports acquired the brand in 2018 (alongside Arc'teryx, Salomon, Atomic), and the line is led by President Stefano Saccone from April 2025. The Åre maxim still holds: if it can handle Åre, it can handle anything.

Peak Performance's Light Zip Hood uses a 210 gsm flat-fleece with a brushed interior — lighter than Pile, heavier than grid, a softly structured mid-layer that works as a solo piece in fall or as insulation under a shell in colder weather. Elastic cuffs and hem, hidden YKK spiral zipper, reflective zipper sliders. The Utility variant adds colour-blocked detail and practical pocketing for trail use.
