Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in Åre, Sweden by three ski racers — Stefan Engström, Peter Blom and Christer Mårtensson — who believed ski kit should be both technically honest and genuinely good looking. From a single shop in a mountain town at the 63rd parallel, the brand grew into Scandinavia's most recognisable mountainwear name. HQ moved to Stockholm in 1999; Amer Sports acquired the brand in 2018 (alongside Arc'teryx, Salomon, Atomic), and the line is led by President Stefano Saccone from April 2025. The Åre maxim still holds: if it can handle Åre, it can handle anything.

Peak Performance's lightweight Pile fleece is the off-trail layer — 100% recycled polyester face with a soft jersey back, built for warmth without bulk. Works as a mid-layer under a shell, a stand-alone for cool mornings, or the après-run piece when the wind picks up. Flatlock seams, double-layer collar, hand pockets with binding.
